The Beauty of Fondant Cakes

Fondant decorated cakes are something of a staple for most Weddings or Parties.  With fondant covered cakes you can create an exotic centerpiece to your event that wouldn’t be achieved in any other cake.

Fondant is a pliable and edible dough that is made of sugars.  Often resembling a marshmallow in taste, it can be easily removed by the guest to reveal the delicious butter cream underneath.

The Taste of Fondant

The common myth is that when you order a fondant cake, it may look great but it will taste horrible.  This is completely untrue!  The actual fondant covering itself is only about 1/4″ thick and doesn’t even have to be eaten.  Some of my clients prefer the taste of fondant, saying it resembles marshmallow.  Your cake will have the same amount of butercream covering the entire cake for your guests to enjoy.  In fact, this buttercream layer is what creates the smooth effect that is envied on all fondant cakes.
