Hi, How did you make the snow on this cake? Am trying to make something like this for my son’s 5th birthday.
    Thanks, Angela

Hey there! I used powder sugar and big sugar crystals and mixed them together. I found the sugar crystals at walmart in the cake decorating section. :-) Let me know how it works out!

I used Wilson’s black food coloring and a small paint brush. I did it by hand, like painting on paper. It’s helpful to use a little bit of water to thin it down a bit too.

    The frosting break down:

    A buttercream basecoat
Fondant (I used a touch of black wilson’s food coloring and kneaded only enough to create a marbled effect)
Then I sprinkled a mix of powdered sugar and decorative sugar crystals on top

If you are looking for the decorative sugar crystals, I found mine at wal-mart in the cupcake, cake mix section. :-)
    Hope this helps!
